Removing the Integrated Storage Controller Card
Important Notice: Only qualified service personnel should perform certain repairs. Procedure:
- Power down the system and all connected devices. Unplug the system from the power source and disconnect any attached peripherals.
- Open the chassis to access internal components.
- Take out the cooling shroud to expose the internal hardware.
- Remove the first expansion card riser to gain access to the storage controller.
- Press down on the two release levers located at the edge of the controller card to disengage it from its connector.
- Carefully tilt the card to release the opposite end from the card holder on the motherboard.
- Reinstall the first expansion card riser.
- Reattach the cooling shroud.
- Close the system enclosure.
- Reconnect the power cable and peripherals, then power on the system.
Installing the Integrated Storage Controller Card

Procedure:
- Power Down the System
- Shut off the system and any connected devices.
- Unplug the system from the power outlet and disconnect all peripherals.
- Open the System Enclosure
- Remove the system cover to access internal components.
- Remove the Cooling Shroud
- Lift the cooling shroud straight up and out of the chassis.
- Detach Expansion Card Riser 1
- Carefully remove the first expansion card riser to make room for the controller card.
- Install the Storage Controller Card
- Align one end of the card with the designated holder on the system board.
- Lower the opposite end into place, ensuring it fits securely into the connector.
- Press down gently until the card is fully seated. The release levers should snap into place over the card’s edge when properly installed.
- Reinstall Expansion Card Riser 1
- Return the riser to its original position and secure it.
- Reattach the Cooling Shroud
- Place the shroud back over the components and ensure it is properly seated.
- Close the System
- Replace the system cover securely.
- Reconnect and Power On
- Plug the system back into the power outlet and reconnect all peripherals.
- Turn on the system and verify normal operation.
