Removing the Integrated Storage Controller Card

Important Notice: Only qualified service personnel should perform certain repairs. Procedure:

  1. Power down the system and all connected devices. Unplug the system from the power source and disconnect any attached peripherals.
  2. Open the chassis to access internal components.
  3. Take out the cooling shroud to expose the internal hardware.
  4. Remove the first expansion card riser to gain access to the storage controller.
  5. Press down on the two release levers located at the edge of the controller card to disengage it from its connector.
  6. Carefully tilt the card to release the opposite end from the card holder on the motherboard.
  7. Reinstall the first expansion card riser.
  8. Reattach the cooling shroud.
  9. Close the system enclosure.
  10. Reconnect the power cable and peripherals, then power on the system.
 
 

Installing the Integrated Storage Controller Card

Procedure:

  1. Power Down the System
    • Shut off the system and any connected devices.
    • Unplug the system from the power outlet and disconnect all peripherals.
  2. Open the System Enclosure
    • Remove the system cover to access internal components.
  3. Remove the Cooling Shroud
    • Lift the cooling shroud straight up and out of the chassis.
  4. Detach Expansion Card Riser 1
    • Carefully remove the first expansion card riser to make room for the controller card.
  5. Install the Storage Controller Card
    • Align one end of the card with the designated holder on the system board.
    • Lower the opposite end into place, ensuring it fits securely into the connector.
    • Press down gently until the card is fully seated. The release levers should snap into place over the card’s edge when properly installed.
  6. Reinstall Expansion Card Riser 1
    • Return the riser to its original position and secure it.
  7. Reattach the Cooling Shroud
    • Place the shroud back over the components and ensure it is properly seated.
  8. Close the System
    • Replace the system cover securely.
  9. Reconnect and Power On
    • Plug the system back into the power outlet and reconnect all peripherals.
    • Turn on the system and verify normal operation.
