Encoding AES passwords using securityUtility and a SAF keyring on Liberty for z/OS

How To

Summary

Certain Liberty tags such as keystore, authData, basicRegistry user, and others require a password. The passwords stored in server.xml can be stored in clear text or in an encoded form to provide an additional layer of security. The encoding of the password can be done using the securityUtility command with wlp.password.encryption.key variable or it can be encrypted using using a private key stored in the System Authorization Facility (SAF) keyring.
