Problem

Provides instruction on how to clear a tape reservation.

Resolving The Problem

Instructions:

On the command line, enter STRSST

sign-in

Option 1 Start a service tool
Option 4 Display/Alter/Dump
Option 2 Dump to printer
Option 2 Licensed Internal Code (LIC) data
Option 14 Advanced analysis

Type in at top and press enter
Option Command
1 IONIOTAPE

Type in the following option and press enter

Options . . . . .  -id tap232 -prmp CLEAR

Type in the following Dump title information and press enter

Dump title . . . . . . . . . . . IONIOTAPE -id tap232 -prmp CLEAR

press F12 until you are allowed to exit SST by pressing enter

The TAPXX is the resource of the drive you are having an issue with.
This process has to be done on the system that you are trying to use the drive.
