Before installing this fix pack, it is recommended to review all Prerequisites in the attached 6.2.0-TIV-BSM-FP0006.README file.
     Impact 7.1.1-TIV-NCI-FP0000 is a required prerequisite for TBSM 6.2.0.6

4.0 Known issues

  • The db2jcc*.jar files recovery on rollback
      Symptom:
       When performing a TBSM 6.2.0.6 rollback (to a prior fix pack level), the "db2jcc-9.7ga.jar" or "db2jcc_license_cu.jar" may not be restored.
       If TBSM 6.2.0.5 IF4 was applied to the environment and then TBSM 6.2.0.6, a rollback from 6.2.0.6 to 6.2.0.5 will not restore the "db2jcc-9.7ga.jar" or "db2jcc_license_cu.jar". This is because when 6.2.0.6 is applied on top of 6.2.0.5
    IF4, the jar files would have already been deleted, and there is no way the FP installer would know how to restore them. In any case, per IF4, the files are not needed/used at all (from that directory).


      Root cause:
       The issue is likely to occur if the TBSM 6.2.0.5 IF3, IF4, and IF5 (if previously applied) were not uninstalled before upgrading to TBSM 6.2.0.6. Being that the prior Interim Fixes removed some files, the TBSM 6.2.0.6 upgrade would not know how to restore those files.

      Resolution:   In some cases, the deleted jar files are not needed or used and can remain deleted. For the instances where the files are needed, those files can be recovered from the backups that the Interim Fixes performed.
  • The tbsmrdr_start.sh reports a timeout error at startup
      Symptom:
       /tbsmrdr_start.sh reports this error:
         Starting tbsmrdrtk2 (via systemctl):  Job for tbsmrdrtk2.service failed because a timeout was exceeded.

      Resolution:
       Edit /etc/init.d/tbsmrdrtk2 and remove the line with pidfile, i.e.
         # pidfile: /var/run/tbsmxmltk.pid
       Run the following command to reload the daemon
         systemctl daemon-reload
       Check that the file /run/systemd/generator.late/tbsmrdrtk2.service does not have a line with "PIDFile"
       Re-run tbsmrdr_start.sh to start the service.
  • On RHEL v9 the tbsmrdr_start.sh reports "No such file or directory" error at startup
      Symptom:
       ./tbsmrdr_start.sh reports this error:
          /etc/rc.d/init.d/tbsmrdrtk2: line 31: /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions: No such file or directory

      Root cause:
       This issue happens because the functions file is missing from the directory /etc/rc.d/init.d/ by default on RHEL v9

      Resolution:
       Run the following command to generate the functions file:
         yum install -y initscripts
       Re-run tbsmrdr_start.sh to start the service.
  • TBSM XMLToolkit on Windows.
          The Impact Fix Pack 3 Update or Rollback process, will fail if the TBSM XMLToolkit service is running.

          Symptom: When the Impact Fix Pack 3 Update and Rollback is run, while the XMLToolkit service is active (on Windows), the following message will be generated on the Installation Manager Update Failed window:
              Error during “install/rollback” phase:
                 Deleting files from C:\*\tbsm\XMLToolk\_jvm
                   Failed to delete C:\*\tbsm\XMLToolk\_jvm\jre\bin\classic\jvm.dll

          Root Cause: On a Windows environment, the files are locked by the operating system, whenever they are in use. This prevents the installer from removing or changing files.

          Resolution: Stop the “Tivoli BSM Discovery Library toolkit” (or XMLToolkitSvc.exe) service and re-attempt the Update or Rollback process.
  • The Monitoring Agent for Business Service Manager Common Agent, may not start on Red Hat Linux.

        Issue:
        When using the following command: ./itmcmd agent start r9
        It might report the following message:
          Processing. Please wait...
           Starting Monitoring Agent for Business Service Manager Common Agent ...
           KCIIN0198E Unable to start agent. Please, check log file.

        Symptom:
        The logs <host>_r9_*.log can report the following message:
           /opt/IBM/ITM/lx8266/r9/bin/kr9agent: error while loading shared libraries:
            libnsl.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
            libnsl.so.1 is not available in this machine, the machine is:


        Resolution:
       
    Install the libnsl library
          For example, use the following command:  yum install libnsl-2.28-164.el8_5.3.x86_64
          This creates:  ./usr/lib64/libnsl.so.1
        Proceed and start the Agent again: ./itmcmd agent start r9
     
       Expected results:
         Processing. Please wait...
          Starting Monitoring Agent for Business Service Manager Common Agent ...
          Monitoring Agent for Business Service Manager Common Agent started
