Abstract
IBM JDK 11 64 bit (5770-JV1 Option 19) is not available with IBM i 7.6 OS and later. As a result, the IBM Installation Manager (IM) v1.10.x for i product (which requires IBM JDK 11 64 bit) will not function on IBM i 7.6 OS and later. IBM i users are recommended to remain at version 1.9.x, which requires IBM JDK 8 32 bit (57xx-JV1 Option 16). IM v1.9.x will continue to receive updates to support IBM i 7.6 OS. IBM recommends updates to newer IM v1.9.x levels be done using an IM 1.9.x repository downloaded from IBM Fix Central and not upgraded via the Internet. Upgrading via the Internet may upgrade your IM version to v1.10.x.

- IBM i 7.6 OS only supports IBM Installation Manager v1.9.x versions running on Java 8 32 bit (5770JV1 Option 16).
- IBM JDK 11 64 bit (5770-JV1 Option 19) is not available with IBM i 7.6 OS and later. As a result, IBM Installation Manager v1.10.x will not function on IBM i 7.6 OS and later.
- IBM recommends clients remain at v1.9.x if they plan to upgrade to IBM i 7.6 OS.
- IBM Installation Manager v1.9.x will continue to be maintained and updated by IBM to support IBM i 7.6.
When installing or upgrading your IBM Installation Manager product, it is recommended to remain at the v1.9.x version in order to be compatible with IBM i 7.6 OS. How to check your IBM Installation Manager version. If v1.10.x, IBM recommends rolling back to the latest version of v1.9.x before upgrading to IBM i 7.6 OS and later.
