Troubleshooting
Problem
- Some zypper commands are showing error message similar to the following:
Refreshing service 'SUSE_Linux_Enterprise_Server_for_SAP_Applications_12_SP5_ppc64le'.
Problem retrieving the repository index file for service 'SUSE_Linux_Enterprise_Server_for_SAP_Applications_12_SP5_ppc64le':
Download (curl) error for 'https://scc.suse.com/access/services/1864/repo/repoindex.xml?cookies=0&credentials=SUSE_Linux_Enterprise_Server_for_SAP_Applications_12_SP5_ppc64le':
Error code: Connection failed
Error message: Failed to connect to scc.suse.com port 443: Connection timed out
Check if the URI is valid and accessible.
Timeout exceeded when accessing 'https://updates.suse.com/SUSE/Updates/SLE-SAP/12-SP5/ppc64le/update/repodata/repomd.xml?<string>'.
Retrying in 30 seconds...
- The message is not specific to a certain repository, SLES version, SLES/SLES for SAP, or service pack.

Diagnosing The Problem
- Open the URLs in a browser and see if you get a response other than the connection timing out:
- Please know that you might see other error messages, but the scope of this document covers firewall blocked connections only.
- You may want to test the URL's from outside your Organization's or Company's network to verify whether the URLs actually work or fail.
Resolving The Problem
- If the URLs are valid on your computer or outside of your Organization's or Company's network, then you might have corporate firewall rules in place that blocks the traffic.
- Please contact your network team for assistance in this case.
