IJ54359: NIM TAKEOVER FAILS FOR CLIENT WITH SIT INTERFACE CONFIGURED APPLIES TO AIX 7300-02

 

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The NIM takeover will fail for the client with the sit
    interface configured, error messages are as below:
    
    0042-001 m_takeover: processing error encountered on
    "client":
       awk: Field  is not correct.
     The input line number is 2.
     The source line number is 1.
    rc=175
    0042-175 c_switch_master: An unexpected result was
    returned by the "/usr/sbin/niminit" command:
    usage:
            niminit -a <attr=value>...[-v]
               -v displays detailed output for the niminit
    operation.
    

Local fix

  • Detach the sit# interface.
