Installing a SAS Backplane
To install a SAS backplane:
- Install the SAS backplane: a. Lower the backplane into the system carefully. b. Align the slots with the retention hooks, then move the backplane forward until the hooks fit through the slots. c. Slide the backplane downward until the blue retention latch locks into place.
- Connect the SAS data and power cables to the backplane.
- Reinstall the hard drives in their original locations.
- Close the system. Refer to the section on closing the system.
- Restore power to the system and peripherals.
