PH66152: MESSAGE DFHSM0002 A SEVERE ERROR (CODE X'0305') HAS OCCURRED IN MODULE DFHSMGF IF CUSTOMER USE TCT TO DEFI 25/05/13 PTF PECHANGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If customer assemble the TCT to define terminal,they can
  experience DFHSM0002 A SEVERE ERROR (CODE X'0305') HAS OCCURRED
  IN MODULE DFHSMGF during CICS startup.
  
  PH63625 added logic to free an IDT buffer during sign-on
  processing and increased the length of the SNEX, but DFHSNEX
  macro in SDFHMAC was not updated to reflect the new length, as a
  result code tries to freemain the area where not correctly
  mapped by DFHSNEX(in customer's case,the storage belonged to
  other terminal's TCTTE).
  

Local fix

• Code TCT=NO in SIT, or use a different mechanism (e.g PLT
  program).
  

Problem summary

  CICS start up fails when a PTF for APAR PH63625 is applied
  and the CICS region is running with an Assembled TCT, in this
  case for defining sequential terminals.
  This is because new code for IDT processing is using a
  DFHSNEX control block which is too short and is adjacent to
  the Assembled DFHTCTTE control block.
  

Problem conclusion

  CICS has been changed to skip IDT processing for
  Assembled TCT terminals.
