IJ54133: LISTING NIM FILESETS ON MASTER FROM NIM CLIENT BE SLOW OR HANG APPLIES TO AIX 7300-03

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Listing NIM Filesets on Master from NIM Client can be
  very
  slow if there is an high number of rpms.
  It can hang, when there is a firewall between the client
  and the master and the firewall drops inactive
  connections
  too fast.
  The proctree will on the client will show :

Local fix

• If there is a firewall, then increase its timeout for
  dropping inactive connections.
  Then wait for the command to finish.

Problem conclusion

• Adjust the code to seauence through the RPM list so that less
  number of RPM commands are executed in the loop
