PH65842: VALIDATION FUNCTION OF THE CATALOG MANAGER SHOULD USE THE ACTIVE OR PENDING TIMESTAMPS IN THE HEADER RECORDS OF THE IMS CATALOG

APAR status

Error description

• The validation function of the Catalog Manager utility may
  report the old instance in IMS catalog as an active instance
  erroneously because the utility checks whether there is an
  instance in the IMS catalog with the same timestamp as the ACBs
  in the IMS directory even if IMS management of ACB is enabled.
  The utility should use the Active or Pending timestamps in the
  header record of the IMS catalog when IMS management of ACBs is
  enabled.

  This APAR modifies the validation function of the Catalog
  Manager utility to evaluate timestamps more correctly by using
  the Active and Pending timestamps in the header segment of the
  IMS catalog database when the IMS management of ACBs is
  enabled.
  
  When the IMS management of ACBs is not enabled, there is no
  change to this function.
