WinCollect 10: Cannot install WinCollect through Command Line Interface (CLI) or PowerShell

Troubleshooting


Problem

Administrators who attempt to install WinCollect 10.1.4 or later may encounter an issue where the installation cannot be completed. This issue typically occurs due to a previous installation that was not correctly removed, preventing the new installation from being completed successfully.

Symptom

Administrators who attempt to install WinCollect 10 by executing the below command, may notice that it does not show any errors but also does not successfully install the application:
msiexec.exe /qn /i WinCollect-10.x.x-xx.x64.msi QUICK_INSTALL="yes" WC_DEST="IP_ADDRESS_OR_FQDN" ADMIN_GROUP="true"
