New release of IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS
We are pleased to announce the latest release of IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS, which includes a range of enhancements, functional improvements, and resolutions for issues reported by our customers. It is available from IBM Fix Central.

PLEASE NOTE: For those customers who have not yet upgraded to version 12.7.0 or higher, the special upgrade instructions for version 12.7.0 apply when upgrading to version 1.1.1.6.
This release may contain updates and capabilities that your site does not currently have licensed. If you are interested in adding additional functionality as described below, please contact your account manager.
Below are the most important changes that are included in IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS 1.1.1.6:
- Several changes were made to Systems drill downs to enhance reporting for MVS Busy and LPAR Busy.
- All “MVS/LPAR Busy” drill downs now generate a report that presents both “MVS Busy” and “LPAR Busy” on the same chart. Previously some drill downs produced a multi-chart that presented the metrics on separate charts.
- Drill downs from the combined “MVS Busy” and “LPAR Busy” report have been enhanced to add several widely used CPU analysis reports including “Engine Dispatch Analysis”, “Weight vs Util”, “Work Unit Q Depth” and “LPAR Usage” (see image below)
- All drill down lists that contain “MVS/LPAR Busy” have been updated to also include “Work Unit Q Depth”. Since the Work Unit Queue Depth report is derived from SRM samples taken every 250 milliseconds, it is an important resource for CPU analysis providing very helpful insights into the duration and severity of CPU constraints even if they are short-lived
- The time needed to export a large tabular report to CSV has been significantly improved for reports that use filters and/or conditions.
- Various improvements and solutions for issues found by our customers.
- The tooltip in stacked bar chart reports has been enhanced to also display the total value for all series along with the value of the highlighted series. This enables comparisons of both a single component and the total values for each series.
Additionally, the values are now formatted to display a thousand separator to improve readability. - For some customers, the Db2 Topology report that shows an overview of all connection types could take considerable time to display. This Db2 Topology report should now display within reasonable time for all customers.
- IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS 1.1.1.6 improves sanitizing of input that could lead to SQL injection. Previously, potentially hazardous input was silently rejected. With this new version the input is sanitized.
- When a user had a report in their collected side pane that no longer existed, fixed dashboards and reports were not available. This has been resolved.
- The tooltip in stacked bar chart reports has been enhanced to also display the total value for all series along with the value of the highlighted series. This enables comparisons of both a single component and the total values for each series.
