Summary

The Online Survey Output collects the following information:
a) Machine's HW configuration.
b) Installed devices
c) Installed Code levels

Objective

The goal of this topic is to show how to capture the Survey in OS environment on HPE Proliant Servers and Blades (P & C class) Gen 2 -9 (ILO, ILO2, ILO3, ILO4).

Steps

Download the HP Insight Diagnostics Online Edition (this is the online edition which does not require rebooting the server) and choose your OS.
 
  1. Choose 'Diagnose Server.
  2. Then select "Server Diagnostics". Survey file will load on the screen (this would take some time).    
  3. Change CATEGORY from 'Overview' to 'All' (the page would refresh after this).
  4. Change VIEW LEVEL from 'Summary' to 'Advance'.
  5. Save the report.
  • Starting from the Windows Start menu, go to Start > All Programs > HP Insight Diagnostics Online Edition for Windows and select HP Insight Diagnostics Online Edition for Windows.
  • For Linux, open the browser and navigate to https://localhost:2381.
On the System Management Homepage, click Webapps > HP Insight Diagnostics in other Agents.
 
 
 
  • By default the Survey tab should be highlighted and you should be on the Survey screen. If not, click the Survey tab at the top of the page. Again by default the view level is set to “Summary” which will provide a very basic level of information when displayed. For support purposes we require a lot more information so select “Advanced” in the view level. Also set the categories section to “All” as opposed to “overview”. Click save.
NOTE : the screen shots above were captured using SmartStart cd version 8.40. When using other SmartStart versions the graphics could be different, but the concepts remains the same.
