QRadar: Tuning the "BB:HostDefinition: Windows Servers" building block

How To

Summary

The Building Block "BB:HostDefinition: Windows Servers" is constantly identified as expensive by QRadar . This can sometimes cause events on systems to be routed directly to storage from CRE.

This Building Block is automatically populated with IP addresses from the Server Discovery function in the Asset tab. If the Environment is large enough, the number of IP addresses can easily reach over 2000, making evaluating the Building Block expensive.

Since this Building Block is associated with core system functionality and gets populated automatically, edits made to the rule IP match test may not persist.
