webMethods Knowlegebase : Java update for webMethods suite running on HP-UX (1793507)

Troubleshooting


Problem

Have webMethods v9.10 components (IS, MWS, UM, SPM & Command Central) installed on HP-UX servers.

All these components use the JRE located at SAG_HOME/jvm/jvm/jre/.

It appears that Java version installation is 1.8.0.04-hp-ux (52.0) and noticed that there are updated versions (latest being 1.8.0.15 released in September 2018) of Java available for HP-UX.

JRE used by the webMethods components is 3 years old which was released in December 2015.

Site regularly patch the webMethods components, but only see CJP_9.10_Fix11 available via SUM (Software AG Update Manager) utility.

Although site could upgrade the JVM on their own, documentation states that Software AG will supply the update via SUM, therefore need confirmation on the below:

Questions:

1) Is SAG planning or in the process to release JAVA updates to JDK/JVM 8.0 for HP-UX?

2) If not, does SAG recommend sites to install latest JVM on HP-UX and make webMethods servers use it?
