webMethods Knowlegebase : Migration to IS 9.6 : Heap memory issue when calling external web service with big MTOM size (1768596)

Troubleshooting

Problem

We are facing a "java heap space" error when we try to send a large file ( 450mb) to our partner using MTOM streaming web service client.

That issue occurs only with IS 9.6. In IS 8.2 the same configuration and the same ws descriptor is running in stream mode without any issue.

The configuration we have for both, IS8.2 and IS9.6, is the following:

watt.server.SOAP.MTOMStreaming.cachedFiles.location=F:\esb\mtom_temporary_cache

watt.server.SOAP.MTOMStreaming.enable=true

watt.server.SOAP.MTOMStreaming.threshold=1

watt.server.SOAP.MTOMThreshold=0
