Troubleshooting


Problem

After patching with March 2014 QPK update released by the HPUX vendor, the IS Mediator cluster has been unstable. Here is a sample from the server log:

(IS.SERVER) [ISS.0033.165] 2014-05-02 00:00:38 GMT INFO: Cluster Member Event: umechpv5:24547 has joined the cluster.

(IS.SERVER) [ISS.0033.166] 2014-05-02 00:01:41 GMT INFO: Cluster Member Event: umechpv5 has left the cluster.

(IS.SERVER) [ISS.0033.165] 2014-05-02 00:01:59 GMT INFO: Cluster Member Event: umechpv5:24547 has joined the cluster.

(IS.SERVER) [ISS.0033.166] 2014-05-02 00:03:10 GMT INFO: Cluster Member Event: umechpv5 has left the cluster.

(IS.SERVER) [ISS.0033.165] 2014-05-02 00:03:11 GMT INFO: Cluster Member Event: umechpv5:24547 has joined the cluster.

(IS.SERVER) [ISS.0033.166] 2014-05-02 00:04:27 GMT INFO: Cluster Member Event: umechpv5 has left the cluster.

(IS.SERVER) [ISS.0033.165] 2014-05-02 00:04:59 GMT INFO: Cluster Member Event: umechpv5:24547 has joined the cluster.

(IS.SERVER) [ISS.0033.166] 2014-05-02 00:05:55 GMT INFO: Cluster Member Event: umechpv5 has left the cluster.

(IS.SERVER) [ISS.0033.165] 2014-05-02 00:06:00 GMT INFO: Cluster Member Event: umechpv5:24547 has joined the cluster.

(IS.SERVER) [ISS.0033.166] 2014-05-02 00:07:16 GMT INFO: Cluster Member Event: umechpv5 has left the cluster.

(IS.SERVER) [ISS.0033.165] 2014-05-02 00:07:18 GMT INFO: Cluster Member Event: umechpv5:24547 has joined the cluster.

Both IS Mediator servers appear to working fine, and they both show up on each other's Settings->Clustering page.

This behavior is not seen on the IS server cluster that does not have Mediator, which was also patched and restarted on the same day.

All IS's are at: IS_8.2_SP2_Core_Fix8

Mediator is at: 8.2.2.0011-0137
