Error description

  • ABEND0C4 RC10 DSNXECL OFFSET00B84 occurs due to a 1-bit overlay
in DSNGEPDL. When a DDL statement does statement level
invalidation (partially invalidating a package/SKPT) , it is
missing latch to serialize against LRU. If the SKPT is LRUed out

and the storage is reused, this 1-bit overlay can occur.

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply corrective PTF when available *
    ****************************************************************
With PH55497/UI93128 applied, 1-bit storage overlay may occur
    during statement level invalidation operation:

When BIND or REBIND package operates with DEPLEVEL(STATEMENT)
option, the package has statement level dependency.

When a DDL statement operation does statement level
invalidation(partially invalidating) for a dependent package in
EDM skeleton pool, it is missing latch to serialize against
LRU. If the package is LRUed out and the storage is reused,
    this 1-bit overlay can occur.

There can be other symptoms due to the storage overlay.

    Additional keywords: DB2OVRLAY/K SQLSTORAGE SQLDYNSTMTCACHE

Problem conclusion

  • Db2 is fixed to correctly hold a latch when it does statement
    level invalidation.
