Error description
Users are experiencing hangs and crashes with their PCOMM. This started when they integrated it with their Enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO) software (Evidian v10.2). They encounter this recurring problem, where their PCOMM freezes (or hangs) and then crashes, when they accessed it through their SSO system. This issue is consistently reproducible across multiple versions of their PCOMM (v12 and v15). Furthermore, users confirmed that there are no hanging issues with PCOMM when the SSO integration is turned off.
Local fix
Problem summary
The EHLLAPI application invokes the CopyPresentationSpace(5) API, which fails while processing the Sukoon or Euro sign contained on the presentation space. This failure blocks subsequent API executions, consistently returning Resource Unavailable (return code 11). Consequently, the blocked APIs are leading to hangs or crashes.
Problem conclusion
A new keyword, IgnoreEuroSignForArabic=Y, has been added under the [API] section in PCSWIN.INI to bypass Euro sign processing. If an API block occurs with Return Code 11, the reset function is triggered to prevent disruptions. Below keyword needs to be added in PCSWIN.INI [API] IgnoreEuroSignForArabic=Y
