Original Article Number : 0 : Both webLogic application and portal use the same session cookieID to identify its session: JSESSIONID. BCE Emergis production uses following urls for portal and webLogic:
Portal: https://provider.emergis.com
webLogic https://health.provider.emergis.com
IE may interpret webLogic url as a subdomain of portals thus sending this cookie to webLogic causing its login problems. The other browsers like Mozilla/Netscape may do this differently, e.g. interpret those as separate domains and thus not sending wrong cookie over. This also explains why you don’t have this problem on staging because your staging url is https://uat.provider.emergis.com, then webLogic url is not a subdomain of this because of extra “uat.” part of the domain.
We have verified that portal JSESSIONID cookie is causing problems for webLogic by manually blocking this session cookie in the Explorer and successfully logging into webLogic afterwards vs. accepting portal cookie and observing login problems into webLogic.
