Troubleshooting
Problem
After migrating database to Oracle version 12cR2, JDBC Driver ojdbc7.jar is replaced by ojdbc8 in WebMethods lib/jars. However, JDBC Adapter connections cannot be enabled and reporting the error “ORA-28040: No matching authentication protocol”.
It wasn't until the DB admin changed the setting “SQLNET.ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION_SERVER=10” to
“SQLNET.ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION_SERVER=8” that connections can be enabled.
