webMethods Knowlegebase : Unable to connect HANA database via JDBC (1770051)

Troubleshooting

Problem

Trying to connect a Hana DB to IS on 9.8 via JDBC.

Looking at the following resources for pointers :

https://empower.softwareag.com/sl24sec/SecuredServices/KCFullTextASP/viewing/view.asp?prdfamily=Integration&KEY=120284-8005606&DSN=PIVOTAL&DST=TCD

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_hanaplatform/helpdata/en/ff/15928cf5594d78b841fbbe649f04b4/content.htm

Put the ngdbc.jar file from the Hana Studio install into /packages/WmJDCAdapter/code/static with the other jdbc .jars.

Verified it is version 1.00.

Reloaded the IS and did see that it was properly listed in the classpath. All good so far.

The problem came when trying to configure the Connection.

It keeps producing the following error:

"Error encountered

[ART.118.5042] Adapter Runtime (Connection): Unable to enable connection resource EAIAdapters.JDBC.SAP:HANA_read.

[ART.118.5036] Adapter Runtime (Connection): Unable to configure connection manager.

com.sap.db.jdbc.Driver cannot be cast to javax.sql.DataSource"
