How to include data driven icon fields in an IBM i2 analyze schema derived from an iBase schema

How To

Summary

Deploying i2 Analyze with a schema derived from iBase - icon type fields are not transmitted to the schema derived from
iBase 8.9.x by using the "setup -t createI2AnalyzeSchemaFromIBase" command

Objective

To include icon field content in an IBM i2 Analyze schema derived from an existing IBM i2 iBase schema

Steps

This workaround for IBM i2 intellishare

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?crawler=1&uid=swg21697848

Also works for IBM i2 analyze.

Follow the steps in the article to create code lists or pick lists from the icon type fields. They can then be included by the "setup -t createI2AnalyzeSchemaFromIBase" command

Additional Information

Using the setup -t createI2AnalyzeSchemaFromIBase

Creates the schema but without your icon fields. [The correct behavior].

Unfortunately we do not cater for 'data driven' icon selection in IBM i2 analyze (or IBM i2 intellishare).
For example, you cannot have a male icon or female icon selected based on a gender value in either product.
