What are topologies in Control Hub?

How To

Summary

What are topologies in Control Hub?

Objective

  • What are topologies?

  • What's the value of topologies?

  • How do I use topologies effectively?

Steps

Results

  • A topology is a way to view groups of jobs that are linked for the same outcome or process. This can give you a ‘birds eye’ view of your workflow and allows you to more easily spot any errors or problem spots.

  • As you build up a set of jobs into a ‘data product’ you can map them into a topology. Then you can use it to review your product as you push it into production to make sure everything looks healthy.

  •  It’s a more visual, more complete view of a workflow. It’s useful for a technician who needs to find a problem among a series of jobs, or an administrator who wants to check on the overall health of a workflow. It’s an effective alternative to documentation.
