SNOWFLAKE_11 - Connection pool shut down

Troubleshooting

Problem

Running a job that includes a Snowflake stage may lead to an error, resulting in a failed job run.

Symptom

SNOWFLAKE_11 -
Could not create SQL Datasource:
com.zaxxer.hikari.pool.HikariPoolInitializationException: Failed to initialize pool:
invalid state:
Connection pool shut down. A potential cause is closing of connection while
query is still running.

Resolving The Problem

Please ensure to check if multiple Snowflake jobs are concurrently running. Identify any similar queries in operation. Proceed to stop all jobs associated with the Snowflake stage. Then, restart them individually. If you encounter difficulties in pinpointing the problematic Snowflake jobs, take the following steps:

  1. Terminate all ongoing jobs.

  2. Restart the StreamSets Data Collector (SDC).

  3. Begin restarting Snowflake stage jobs one at a time to isolate the issue.

Should the problem continue, we recommend collecting a SDC support bundle and reaching out to Technical Support for further assistance.
