MAS V9: First log in to MAS will not load the dashboard. Spinning loading screen indefinitely

How To

Summary

You have successfully installed Maximo Application Suite V9, but when logging into the dashboard for the first time, you are presenting with an indefinite spinning wheel on screen, rather than the dashboard loading. This article will demonstrate how to resolve this issue.

Environment

Maximo Application Suite Version 9

Steps

This issue occurs if you chose to install a non-production environment during the installation process (Dev or Test environment). With this non-production install type, no CA signed certificates are used during the installation process. Maximo Application Suite will provision its own self-signed certificates during this  non-producton install type, and these self-signed certificates need to be added to your web browsers trust store to allow normal operation.
Video Guide
Video recorded in 1080 (HD), use video settings to increase the quality of the stream.

To confirm you have this issue:
1 - You will see a screen with a blue spinning wheel once you have entered your login credentials

2 - If you open the browsers developers console (press F12 on chrome for example) and click on the "Console" and/or the "Security" tab (browser dependant), you will see this error message
net::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID

To solve the issue
STEP1: connect to the API and Auth services to gain the certificates
To rectify the issue, you must save two the self-signed certificates to your browser trust store, as they are not currently present. One for the API and one for the Auth.
In your browser, you will need to access each of these URLs and follow the below process for each one.
Replace the key information between the <> signs with the details from your installation
An example from my own environment using chrome:
1 = My MAS instance name (yellow text in image)
2= My MAS host which is being hosted on IBMCloud (Purple text in image)

STEP2: Load the certificate in your browser
Once you load the page using one of the URLs above, you will then be presented with a screen that says "Your connection is not Private" and two options, "Advance" or "Back to safety"
Click "Advance"
STEP 3:  Confirming you want to accept the certificate
You will be presented with a further screen, which you need to click the blue URL at the bottom of the page.
This means you accept the risks and then adds the certificate to your browsers trust store.

STEP 4: Web response to adding the certificate
Once you accept the certificate above the webpage will display an error. This is normal.
NOTE: Remember to complete the above steps for both URLs in step 1.
STEP 5: Log into the Maximo Application Suite Dashboard
Once both certificates have been added to your trust store, you can re-attempt to log in with your original URL provided by the Maximo Application Suite Installer.  You will then be presented with the "Suite administration" page as per the image below
The details on where to find the initial supersuper username, password and login URL can be found here
