Problem
This article describes a situation that can occur in AIX environments running Guardium STAP configured with a single ktap buffer.
Symptom
In a kernel trace it may be observed that read\write system calls which would normally take 20 microseconds taking hundreds of milliseconds or in some situations over a second. To an end user these increases in system call completion time may translate into installed applications on the server performing less optimally.
