There are certain scenarios where you will need to import the signer certificate(s) into the Java (JRE) keystore for the Java that is used to run Cognos Analytics. Some of the most common scenarios are:
- Secured JDBC data source database connections.
- Secured JDBC database connections for the Content Store, Notification, Mobile, Human Task and Annotation, and Audit databases.
- Using the command line trigger utility against an SSL/TLS enabled Cognos Analytics environment.
- Secured TLS connections to email servers.*
*A custom script is provided for TLS email connections that uses keytool. If there are issues with the provided script, directly using keytool as outlined here can be done.
