Abstract

Version 1.1.1.5 of IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS was released on February 28, 2025.

New release of IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS

We are happy to announce a new release of IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS which provides changes and improvements as well as solutions for specific problems reported by our customers. Please find details on all changes and solutions in the Release Notes that are available from here.

Cloud users will be automatically upgraded to the latest version during the next several change windows. Notification of impending upgrades will be forthcoming to users. Our weekly change window is from 4:00 PM on Thursdays to 12:00 AM Friday Central Time.

This release may contain updates and capabilities that your site does not currently have licensed. If you are interested in adding additional functionality as described below, please contact your account manager.

Below are the most important changes that are included in IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS 1.1.1.5:

  1. IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS provides topology views that visualize configuration and and other topology views that visualize what components use other components. In this release, the Subsystem Topology views have been significantly enhanced at the Transaction Level. With this new release, CICS transactions with the same set of connections are grouped together and string patterns are used to represent multiple entries. This enhancement enables users to see what transactions are part of the same group of connections, and also provides immediate access to the list of transactions that was part of each group.
  2. When specifying a Top N for a report without explicitly specifying a “Sort by” field, IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS 1.1.1.5 will now default to ordering by the variables specified for the primary y-axis instead of the (first) selected Level.
  3. IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS now uses “μs” as the unit for variables that are expressed in microseconds. Changing the unit for time-based metrics also shows “μs” as an option.
  4. The names of the Severity filter options for Scheduled Exports have been changed to “Warnings and Exceptions” and “Exceptions only”. Messages have been adjusted in several places; to match the new severity filter labels in the Export dialog.
