APAR status

Error description

  • Cuastomer installed System administration Client and IBM Content
Manage Version 8 Connector using IBM Content Manager Enterprise
edition v8.7.0.0.


However customer noticed that MSVC++ 2013 (x64) v12.0.40649
was installed by the installer, which has been out of support

Customer asked to provide with an installer which doesnt
include MSVC++ 2013 (x64) v12.0.40649.

Problem summary

  •  Content Manager version 8.7 should not install
Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package.

Problem conclusion

  •  The problem is fixed in Content Manager
Enterprise Edition version 8.7 fix pack 4. Beginning with
fix pack 4, the configuration manager will no longer install
the Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package. If you
already installed a previous version or fix pack level of
Content Manager, you will need to uninstall the Visual C++
2013 Redistributable Package manually.

Temporary fix

  •  Uninstall the Microsoft Visual C++ 2013
Redistributable Package manually.
