As of the March 2025 feature release, which is part of the 9.1 main release, IBM Maximo Manage will fully support Java 17. Compatibility mode will be phased out, and the release will be exclusively based on Java 17.

Maximo Manage Java 17 support and upgrade information
Starting from the March 2025 feature release (part of the 9.1 release), Maximo Manage is enhancing its platform to fully support Java 17. This represents a significant shift from previous versions.
Java version support
- Maximo Manage 9.1 version (March 2025 and later): Full Java 17 support.
- Maximo Manage 8.6.x, 8.7.x, 9.0.x, and 9.1 earlier (up to February 2025): Continue to support Java 8 compatibility mode (Java 11).
Runtime environment
The runtime Liberty version has been upgraded to support Java 17.

Impact on existing functionality and JARs
