  • mmfsd fails to start with "sdrServ: Error resolving
hostname" error

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • The sdrServ was not able to initialize due to the hostname
resolution failure of the legacy server-based configuration
server. This prevents GPFS daemon from coming up.

  • This problem is fixed in 5.2.2.1

Benefits of the solution:
Ignore hostname resolution failure of legacy server-based
configuration server in sdrServ initialization to allow GPFS to
come up

Work Around:
Temporarily fix the hostname resolution.

Problem trigger:
Startup GPFS

Symptom:
Startup failure. Hostname resolution failure messages found in
mmfs.log.
