Error description

  • A transaction experiences a DFHSM0102 storage violation code
    x'030B' due to an invalid freemain from
    FREEMAIN_PROTECTED_FIELD_DATA in DFHTFIQ. An EXEC CICS SEND MAP
    is being processed at the time.

    The region in question has toggle com.ibm.cics.bms.ids=true
    set.

Local fix

  • set toggle com.ibm.cics.bms.ids=false

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A DFHSM0102 storage violation code      *
    *                      x'030B' is observed while processing    *
    * EXEC CICS SEND MAP. *
    ****************************************************************
    When the CICS region has BMS Intrusion Detection Service (IDS)
    active with either feature toggle com.ibm.cics.bms.ids=true
    or enabled XBMIN/XBMOUT GLUE, it builds a control block to
    manage the BMS map data for the BMS activity.

    If CICS goes through SHUTDOWN and restarts with a WARM start on
    the same terminal, the address of the control block is restored
    from the catalog. While restoring, the new CICS references the
    old pointer. Storage Manager spots the anomaly and reports a
    DFHSM0102 storage violation code x'030B'.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS has been changed to clear the old pointer during the
    restart.
