Error description
Abbreviations for minimumextentsize are not honored in the update node and register node command, despite the online manuals or the help update node and help register node commands, allowing it. The online manual and help command say: *MINIMUME*xtentsize Specifies the extent size that is used during data deduplication operations for cloud-container storage pools and directory-container storage pools on this node. In most system environments, the default value of 50 KB is appropriate. However, if you plan to deduplicate data from an Oracle or SAP database, and the average extent size is less than 100 KB, you can help optimize performance by specifying a larger extent size. Data in Oracle and SAP databases is typically deduplicated with extent sizes that are much smaller than the default average size of 256 KB. Small extent sizes can negatively affect the performance of backup and expiration operations and can result in unnecessary growth of the IBM Storage Protect server database. So this indicates that MINIMUME is the minimum needing to be used. This is incorrect as seen in this example: update NODE1 minimume=250KB ANR3561E UPDATE NODE: Keyword parameter MINIMUMEXT is not recognized. The following keyword parameters are valid: CONtact, EMAILADdress, AUTHentication, MINIMUMEXTENTSIze, ARCHDELete, BACKDELete, CLOptset, COMPression, DOmain, FORCEPwreset, HLAddress, KEEPMP, LLAddress, MAXNUMMP, PASSExp, URL, WHEREDOmain, WHEREPLatform, SESSIONSECurity, UTILITYUrl, ARREPLRuledefault, AUTOFSRename, BACKUPINITiation, BKREPLRuledefault, DATAReadpath, DATAWritepath, DEDUPlication, REPLMode, REPLState, RECOVERDamaged, ROLEOVERRIDE, SESSIONINITiation, SPREPLRuledefault, TARGETLevel, TXNGroupmax, VALIdateprotocol, SSLrequired, SYNCldapdelete, SPLITLARGEObjects, GENeratekeys. ANR3598E UPDATE NODE: At least one of the following parameters is required: password, CONTACT, EMAILADDRESS, AUTHENTICATION, MINIMUMEXTENTSIZE, ARCHDELETE, BACKDELETE, CLOPTSET, COMPRESSION, DOMAIN, FORCEPWRESET, HLADDRESS, KEEPMP, LLADDRESS, MAXNUMMP, PASSEXP, URL, SESSIONSECURITY, UTILITYURL, ARREPLRULEDEFAULT, AUTOFSRENAME, BACKUPINITIATION, BKREPLRULEDEFAULT, DATAREADPATH, DATAWRITEPATH, DEDUPLICATION, REPLMODE, REPLSTATE, RECOVERDAMAGED, ROLEOVERRIDE, SESSIONINITIATION, SPREPLRULEDEFAULT, TARGETLEVEL, TXNGROUPMAX, VALIDATEPROTOCOL, SSLREQUIRED, SPLITLARGEOBJECTS, GENERATEKEYS. ANR3589I UPDATE NODE: For more information, issue the HELP UPDATE NODE command. ANS8001I Return code 3. Whereas, using the full word, the command works and confirms the correct usage: update node NODE1 minimumextentsize=250KB ANR2063I Node NODE1 updated. IBM Storage Protect Versions Affected: IBM Storage Protect Server V8.1.x and higher Additional Keywords: TS018101753 update register node min characters

Problem conclusion
In IBM Documentation, the MINIMUMEXTENTSIze Parameter was abbreviated incorrectly in the following topics: - UPDATE NODE (Update node attributes) - REGISTER NODE (Register a node) The MINIMUMExtentsize parameter is changed to MINIMUMEXTENTSIze in both the topics, which resolves the issue with the CLI help commands. Affected platforms for reported issue: AIX Fixed on platforms: AIX, Linux, Windows
