AIX® ibm-semeru-certified-jre_ppc64_aix_17.0.13.0.tar.gz
Linux® ibm-semeru-certified-jre_x64_linux_17.0.13.0.tar.gz

The instructions that follow refer generically to the interim fix archive file as the java_archive file and DTX_HOME_DIR as the directory where the Transformation Extender is installed.
  1. Stop all processes that use the Transformation Extender runtime environment.
  2. Create a backup copy of the existing DTX_HOME_DIR \java directory. For example:

    On Windows operating systems:
    1. Create a backup directory named DTX_HOME_DIR \installed_java.
    2. Move the existing DTX_HOME_DIR \java\bin directory and the DTX_HOME_DIR \java\lib directory into the DTX_HOME_DIR \installed_java directory.

    On UNIX® operating systems:
    cd DTX_HOME_DIR
    mkdir installed_java
    mv java/bin installed_java/.
    mv java/lib installed_java/.
  3. Create a working directory named IFwork ( DTX_HOME_DIR) to hold the java_archive file. For example:

    On Windows operating systems:
    mkdir DTX_HOME_DIR \IFwork

    On UNIX operating systems:
    mkdir DTX_HOME_DIR /IFwork

  4. Transfer the java_archive file as a binary file to the DTX_HOME_DIR \IFwork directory.
  5. Extract the java_archive file. For example:

On Windows operating systems, decompress the DTX_HOME_DIR\IFwork\ java_archive file.

    On AIX operating systems:
    cd DTX_HOME_DIR /IFwork
    gunzip -c java_archive  | tar -xf -

On Linux and Linux on System z operating systems:
    cd DTX_HOME_DIR /IFwork
    tar -zxf java_archive

  6. Copy the /bin and /lib subdirectories from the extracted directory below DTX_HOME_DIR /IFwork to the DTX_HOME_DIR /java directory.
  7. Optionally, set the appropriate ownership and access permission on the UNIX deployments. For example:
    chown -h -R install_owner_id:install_owner_group DTX_HOME_DIR /java
    chmod -R u-w,g-w,o-w DTX_HOME_DIR /java .
  8. To test that the runtime environment is operable, enter: java -version
The system should return the version of the service pack that the interim fix installed.
  9. After you verify that the runtime environment is working, delete the DTX_HOME_DIR /IFwork and DTX_HOME_DIR /installed_java directories.
