Answer
The space in /boot can be freed up by removing kernels -- BUT NOT MANUALLY.
Further more, /boot size cannot be increased. The OS settings keep only 3 kernels, and from the storge usage details, via df it already have 3 kernels at the moment. This means the next kernel update (from security updates), the oldest would be removed. This means no noticeable disk usage in /boot.
So there will no concern with the /boot disk usage even it is used 88%, the system will managed well for next upgrade from now on.
