db2start fails after Linux OS Upgrade

Troubleshooting


Problem

After performing an in-place Linux OS upgrade, with Db2 11.5.9.0 installed, db2start fails.
After performing an in-place Linux OS upgrade, with Db2 11.5.7.0 or 11.5.8.0 installed, Db2 is unable to use object storage.

Symptom

After performing an in-place Linux OS upgrade, with Db2 11.5.9.0 installed, db2start fails with one of these messages:

db2start: error while loading shared libraries: libaws-cpp-sdk-transfer.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

db2start: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypto.so.1.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

After performing an in-place Linux OS upgrade, with Db2 11.5.7.0 or 11.5.8.0 installed, attempting to use object storage fails with this message in db2diag.log:
