QRadar: Troubleshooting "I/O Error Reading Index of Cache: AWSRESTDuplicateFileCache_XXXXX"

Troubleshooting

Problem

This article provides guidance on resolving cache file errors encountered in the AmazonAWSRESTProvider protocol.
The AWSRESTDuplicateFileCache_XXXXX file is a register of already processed files downloaded from the AWS S3 bucket. The purpose of this register is to help prevent event duplication.

Symptom

There are commonly two symptoms which are both happening simultaneously.
  1. Event ingestion for a specific Amazon AWS-related log source has stopped.
  2. We can find cache-related errors in the /var/log/qradar.error on the target event collector:

In the error, AWSRESTDuplicateFileCache_xxxxx, where xxxxx is a spconfig ID associated with a log source.
