APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Server may hang with pending IO when trying to reconnect
iSCSI target device.

Local fix

  • Reboot of the host is required to recover.

Problem summary

  • Machine hang or deadlock during an iSCSI login sequence.
Once CPU will be trying to do do tstop from the funtion
iscsisw_relogin_handler and another CPU will be trying to
aquire the lock tgt_lock in iscsisw_relogin_trb_handler

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed iSCSI relogin handler to handle this situation to avoid
hand.
