IT47296: CTGGA2059 LOG PURGE FAILED FOR DATABASE MESSAGE AT THE END OF THE SAP HANA DB BACKUP JOB

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Starting with version 10.1.12, SAP HANA databases can be
  protected with IBM Storage Protect Plus.
  The SAP HANA database protection job can end with the following
  message seen in the job log :
  
  ERROR,..,CTGGA2059,Log purge failed for database ALL
                    (<DBName> + 1 tenant): The IBM Spectrum
                    Protect Plus agent cannot delete the log
                    backups for the
                    <SAP_HANA_Host>/<SAP_Instance> instance
                    because it failed to retrieve the list of
                    available files from the path /mnt/spp/vsnap
                    /vpool<x>/fs<yy>/<a>_<b>_<c>_<d>
                    /DB_<SAP_Instance>
  
  In the application log, the messaging will be similar to :

  This will happen when the location to cleanup on the SAP HANA
  host contains files prefixed with a "." (dot).
  In the above example it is file
  '.log_backup_0_0_0_0.1729092845201'.

Problem conclusion

• This issue can be seen at the customer environment, when the
  logpurge and log backup operations are taking place at the same
  and there is a any delay
  of transferring logbackup files between VSNAP and application
  server.
  
  Fix applied at SPP "SAPHANA agent" side, don't apply the
  logpurge operation to the "log backup files" while log backup
  operation is using those files,
  The log purge operation only applies to log backup files after
  the log backup operation has completed.
