IJ52946: CICS EXPLORER ALWAYS PREFERS TO QUERY THE MP CMAS, EVEN WHEN IT IS INACTIVE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When CICS Explorer is connected to a CICSplex where the
  Maintenance Point CMAS is inactive, but an alternate CMAS is
  active, Explorer fails to load certain resources. The CICSplex
  Explorer fails to load information on the number of active
  regions in the CICSplex. The Workload Rule Editor fails to load
  information on Target Distribution Factors and Target
  Statistics. However, it should be possible for Explorer to
  successfully load all of these things by using the alternate
  CMAS instead of the Maintenance Point CMAS.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• When connecting to a CICSplex with two CMASs, of which one is
  the Maintenance Point (MP) and is inactive and the other is the
  non-MP and is active, CICS Explorer tries and fails to load
  CICSplex Explorer data from the inactive MP CMAS.
  

Problem conclusion

• CICS Explorer had been prioritising the MP CMAS regardless of
  whether it is active or not when attempting to connect to a
  CICSplex.  This has been corrected so that the MP CMAS is no
  longer prioritised if it is found to be inactive.
  
  This fix will be made available in Version 5.5.39 (33.0.11) of
  the CICS Explorer.
