IT47094: RESTORE FROM ARCHIVE FAILS WITH ERROR = (STORAGEVOLUMECLONEEXCEPTION)

Error description

• When IBM Storage Protect Plus is used to restore from an archive
  (either in cloud storage or on a repository server), the restore
  can fail with the following message in the joblog:
  
  
  ERROR,,date,2,CTGGA0981,Failed to clone volume from snapshot
  (spp_achive_snapshot) of volume (spp_archive_volume) . Error =
  (StorageVolumeCloneException).
  
  
  This can be seen when the vSnap that is used for the restore
  does not have a vSnap pool initialized.

Problem conclusion

• Till 10.1.16.3 whenever a hard disk driver was not added and the
  vsnap pool was not initialized, then archive restore threw a
  wrong error message. In IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.16.4, fix
  has been provided.
