This technical note provides guidance for installing IBM Guardium Data Protection ad hoc patch 11.0p1300, including any new features or enhancements, resolved or known issues, or notices associated with the patch.

Finding the patch 
Make the following selections to locate this patch for download on the IBM Fix Central website:
 
  • Product selector: IBM Security Guardium
  • Installed version: 11.0
  • Platform: All
  • Click "Continue," select "Browse for fixes," and click "Continue" again.
  • Select "Appliance patch (GPU and ad hoc)" and enter the patch information in the "Filter fix details" field to locate the patch.

Prerequisites
Guardium Data Protection 11.5 installation, where the appliance was previously upgraded from 10.6.
Installation
Notes
  • This patch provides fix to allow appliance to upgrade from v11.5 to v12.0 using p12001 when the appliance was previously upgraded from 10.6
  • If the appliance was not previously upgraded from 10.6, p1300 is not required
  • If the appliance meets this criteria and p1300 is not installed, health check 11.0p9998 will fail and instruct to install p1300 before upgrade to v12
  • Order of patching to upgrade:
    1. 11.0p1300
    2. 11.0p9998
    3. 11.0p12001
Overview
  1. Download the patch and extract the compressed package outside the Guardium system.
  2. Be sure to check the latest version of these patch release notes online just before you install this patch.
  3. Pick a "quiet" or low-traffic time  to install the patch on the Guardium system.
