Problem
Administrative commandline client output can be displayed in either table or list formats.
Cause
By default, the Tivoli Storage Manager Admin command line attempts to output query command data in the best format based upon the screen size and amount of data output. The format chosen is either table or list format.
Resolving The Problem
The Tivoli Storage Manager Admin command has a displaymode option that can be used to display output in one of two formats, list or table, regardless of the screen size or amount of data the command outputs. Using the -displaymode=list will output the data with each field on a single line. Using the -displaymode=table format will output the data in a table.
By default, on a standard 80 column screen output from a QUERY VOLUME command is output in table format:

If the QUERY VOLUME command is used from an Admin client started with a -displaymode=list option (DSMADMC -DISPLAYMODE=LIST), the output would look like:
