Commands a client can run on their Brocade (IBM b-type) SAN Switch to perform a health check

Environment

Brocade (IBM b-type) switch.

Steps

The commands listed below will help you perform a general health check on your Brocade (IBM b-type) SAN switch:
List of commands:

slotshow -m: Provides information about the inserted blades within the chassis.

slotshow -d576: Lists the occupied slots, adding the power supplies, fans, and information about the failure codes.

Sensorshow: Shows the temperature of each hardware component.

firmwareshow -v: Shows both CPs/core blades/partition state and if they run the same firmware version.
Hadump (for Director type of switches): You can verify if both CPs are in sync state for redundancy. (HA State synchronized).

errdump -a: Check if there are recently logged error messages indicating hardware failure of switch components.

haShow: Use this command to display the control processor status.
