Abstract

With immediate effect, new ITCAM for Response Time Agent Version 7.4.0.1 interim fixes will be no longer published.
* 7.4.0.1-TIV-CAMRT-IF0066 was the last "7.4.0.1" RT component update to be published.
* 7.4.0.1-TIV-CAMRT-IF0067 was the last "7.4.0.1" RT Java SDK update to be published.

Only ITCAM for Response Time Agent Version 7.4.0.2 RT Component and Java SDK interim fixes will be published in future.

Overview

Historically, IBM has provided interim fixes for the ITCAM for Response Time Agent Version 7.4.0.1 and the ITCAM for Response Time Agent Version 7.4.0.2. 

Response Time (CAMRT) images include these components:
T3  - Application Management Console agent
T5  - Web Response Time agent
T6  - Robotic Response Time agent
RIS - Rational Application Support
 
ITCAM for Response Time Agent Version 7.4.0.1

  • Uses an older IBM Tivoli Monitoring framework (IBM Tivoli Monitoring Version 6.3 Fix Pack 6 and earlier) that no longer aligns with our support strategies.
  • ITCAM for Response Time Agent Version 7.4.0.1 also has an SQLite vulnerability due to SQLite3 Version 3.43.0 and earlier. This vulnerability is classified as "Critical" (CVE-2023-7104 - Leads to a heap-based buffer overflow). It is recommended to apply an upcoming ITCAM for Response Time Agent Version  7.4.0.2 Interim Fix 24 patch to fix this issue.


ITCAM for Response Time Agent Version 7.4.0.2

  • Uses IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.3 Fix Pack 7 Service Pack 6 and later, and thus provides a more up-to-date and robust monitoring environment that aligns with IBM's current standards and customer needs. 


Recommendations

To ensure continued support and access to the latest fixes, we strongly recommend the following. 

  • Upgrade to the ITCAM for Response Time Agent Version 7.4.0.2 to continue receiving the latest fixes, enhancements, and support. 
  • Ensure that your environment is compatible with the IBM Tivoli Monitoring  Version 6.3 Fix Pack 7 Service Pack 6 and later (Required for ITCAM for Response Time Agent Version 7.4.0.2). 
     
Impact
 
CAMRT 7.4.0.2 interim fixes can only be applied to T3, T5, and T6 agents where the version of ITM framework ('AX') on the agent is equal to or later than v6.3 FP7 SP6. If this condition is not true, you must not apply CAMRT 7.4.0.2 interim fixes.
 
If an ITM framework upgrade is needed on the agent, these actions need to be taken before installing the CAMRT 7.4.0.2 update.
 
If...  ITM TEMS and TEPS versions are lower than SP6:

* Upgrade ITM core server components, eg. TEMS and TEPS to a version of ITM that's more recent than SP5
   It's recommended you apply the latest version

* Install the same version of the OS agent on the T3/T5/T6 agent hosts
   This will update the framework
 
* Upgrade the T3/T5/T6 agent(s)

* Using the same version that's installed on TEMS and TEPS, install the OS agent on the T3/T5/T6 agent host
   This will update the framework
 
* Upgrade the T3/T5/T6 agent(s)
