Error description
enabling audit on and doing rmdev -dl sfwcomm# will remove the storage framework device This can leave the fcs adapter in a opened state. Additionally when you then re-run cfgmgr you get errors that the sfwcomm can't be initialized. However the device is created. Method error (/usr/lib/methods/cfgstorfworkcom -l sfwcomm0 ): 0514-040 Error initializing a device into the kernel. Method error (/usr/lib/methods/cfgstorfworkcom -l sfwcomm0 ): 0514-040 Error initializing a device into the kernel.
Local fix
do not turn on audit if you need to remove your fcs adapters. if you do turn it on reboot the system and that will clear it up.
Problem summary
When the audit is turned on and sfwcommX is unconfigured using rmdev, then rmdev of fscsiX device would fail.
Problem conclusion
The code changes are made to appropriately copy the data structures, for correct interface recognition.
Temporary fix
