Error description
Growing disks in VIOS SSP by a large amount may result in the pool holding up I/O for an excessive amount of time, causing client LPARs to timeout I/O. . We have seen this when the increase across all disks in the pool totals > 10 TB at once
Local fix
Increase the size of the pool slowly, smaller amounts, on only a few disks at a time.
Problem summary
Customer SSP pool was hung.
Problem conclusion
Improve space partition map access.
