IJ01096: ERRPT FLOODED WITH FCA_ERR6 WHEN QLOGIC LOGIN TABLE ENTRIES FULLAPPLIES TO AIX 6100-09

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• On Qlogic adapters, asynchronous logins from other
  devices/
  hosts in the SAN fabric can consume the login table list
  maintained by the physical adapter driver.
  
  When this happens the error log will be filled with
  FCA_ERR6 errors, with "0003" and "0124" in the first line
  of sense data as indicated here:

  The errors themselves are harmless, and the adapter will
  still be able to login to the fabric and storage devices.
  This APAR prevents the login table from being improperly
  filled up.
  

Local fix

• Reboot the host where the Qlogic adapters reside in
  order to clear the login tables in the physical adapter
  driver.
  
  In a VIO configuration, that means rebooting the VIO
  server.
